The National Examination Council, NECO, has blacklisted 20 supervisors involved in various examination offenses during the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, SSCE, (Internal).

The Registrar and Chief, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi made the disclosure in Minna, Niger State.

He revealed that the offenses include: poor supervision, aiding and abetting, connivance and extortion.

Wushishi also said five schools have been recommended for de-recognition for two years due to their involvement in mass or whole exams malpractices cutting across various states.

The breakdown showed three schools, one each in Bauchi, Kaduna, and Bayelsa states, while two schools were involved in Katsina state.

Speaking on the delay in the release of results, the NECO boss said, “We wish to assure candidates and parents that we will do everything within our power to ensure that it does not happen again as was the practice before, results were normally released 90 days after the last written paper.”

The Registrar further reiterated the commitment of the council to conducting credible exams aimed at improving the overall quality of education in the country.
