International Special Entrance Scholarships at the University of Winnipeg will be automatically offered to new international students entering studies at the UWinnipeg in the 2023 academic year following graduation from a high school outside of Canada. These entrance scholarships will be offered automatically during the regular admissions application process; a separate scholarship application is not required. All international students must meet the conditions below to qualify.

The University of Cambridge is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students into their Bill Gates Cambridge Scholarship for postgraduate programmes. It is a fully-funded scholarship for all domestic and international students at the university.

Scholarship Description

The Bill Gates Cambridge Scholarships are one of the most prestigious international scholarships in the world. They award scholarships to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.

Each year Gates Cambridge offers c.80 full-cost scholarships to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.

Approximately two-thirds of these awards will be offered to PhD students, with approximately 25 awards available in the US round and 55 available in the International round.

Degree Level for Gates Scholarship

The Gates Cambridge Scholarship programme is available for the full-time post-graduate students of any programme.

Available Courses

PhD, MSc or MLitt, or a one-year postgraduate course in any subject offered at the University.

Courses that are NOT eligible for Gates Cambridge Scholarships:

Bill Gates Cambridge Scholarship Benefits 

A Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge, including tuition fees, maintenance allowance, travel costs, visa, etc. It also provides additional discretionary funding, such as academic development funding, family allowance, fieldwork,.

A Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge. It also provides additional discretionary funding.

Core Components

1. The University Composition Fee at the rate

2. A maintenance allowance for a single student (£17,848 for 12 months at the 2021-22 rate; pro rata for courses shorter than 12 months)–for PhD scholars, the award is for up to 4 years

3. one economy single airfare at both the beginning and end of the course

4. Inbound visa costs & the cost of the Immigration Health Surcharge

The University Composition Fee varies for different students; applicants should see the Graduate Studies prospectus for full details about precise amounts. Where a student from the European Union has been successful in gaining a fees award from public authorities, they must accept this and the Trust will not pay these fees.

Discretionary Components

However, the Trust also considers applications for several types of additional funding discretionarily:

1. Academic development funding–from up to £500 to up to £2,000, dependent on the length of your course, to attend conferences and courses.

2. Family allowance–up to £10,120 for one child and up to £14,440 for two or more children (2021-22 rate). Funding is not provided for a partner.

3. Fieldwork–you may apply to keep up to your normal maintenance allowance while on fieldwork as part of your PhD (the Trust does not fund other fieldwork costs as these should be funded by the University Composition Fee).

4. Maternity/Paternity funding–should you require it. Also, you may apply to intermit your studies for up to 6 months and continue to receive your maintenance allowance during this time.

5. Hardship funding–for unforeseen difficulties.

Application Procedure for Gates Scholarship

Applicants apply for admission and funding (Gates Cambridge and other funding) via the University’s Graduate Application Portal.

To be considered for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship, you must complete the section to apply for admission to a course and a College place and the Gates Cambridge part of the funding section.

SSP Scholarship 2022 update

The Government of Karnataka is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students into their SSP Scholarship 2022 and Post Matric Scholarship for undergraduate and postgraduate Engineering, architecture, and Management courses. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students.

About SSP Scholarship 2022

State Scholarship Portal (SSP) is an application for providing scholarships, an initiative by the Government of Karnataka to provide financial help to Pre-matric and Post-matric students.

Every year Department of Social Welfare, Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Department of Minorities Department, and Department of Scheduled Tribes Welfare disburse Pre-matric and Post-matric scholarships.

SSP Scholarship 2022 Application Process

1. Registration (only once) for new users. If you have already applied for an SSP Scholarship in the previous year, you can skip this step.

2. Submit your post-matric online application in the SSP Portal (ssp.karnataka.gov.in scholarship) until the e-authentication step.

 

4. Meet your e-attestation officer with your original documents for attestation.

5. After the e-attestation, your documents appear in the Approved documents with e-attestation Ids.

6. Now, log in to the SSP Portal, enter your e-authentication Ids, and complete the SSP Scholarship application submission process.

First-time Application for SSP Scholarship 2022?

If you are applying for a Scholarship for the first time, first, you must create your account in SSP Portal and then apply for the Scholarship.

However, if you already applied for the Scholarship in the previous year, you can skip the account creation step and directly apply for SSP Scholarship.

Below are the steps to create an account in SSP Portal:

1. Go to the SSP Portal using https://ssp.postmatric.karnataka.gov.in/2021

2. If you are applying for Fresh Scholarship, click on “Create Account”. This is a one-time process in SSP Scholarship.

SSP Scholarship 2022 Eligibility Criteria

A student who satisfies any of the below criteria can apply for either pre-matric or post-matric Scholarships.

1. Karnataka Students Studying Outside the State.

2. Students Who Have Completed SSLC/10th Standard Before 2004

3. Karnataka Students Who Have Passed Their 10th/12th in Other State Board and Studying PU/Graduation/any Other Courses in Karnataka.

4. Students Who did 10th/12th From ICSE.

5. Students Who did 10th/12th From National Open School.

SSP Scholarship 2022 Amount

Different departments provide SSP Scholarship Amount such as Social Welfare Department, Tribal Welfare Department, Minorities Welfare Department and Backward classes Welfare department to SC, ST, Minority and OBC students, respectively. And students must satisfy certain conditions to be eligible for the Scholarship.

Fee Reimbursement

The Government will reimburse 100% of your fees. The Government of India will reimburse 50% of the fees, and the Government of Karnataka will reimburse the remaining 50%.

UI Scholarship scheme for postgraduate students with physical disabilities 2022 is out!!!!

The Postgraduate College, University of Ibadan is pleased to announce a Scholarship Scheme for Students Living with Physical Disability for the 2021/2022 academic session and to invite interested Master’s degree and PhD students of the University of Ibadan to submit applications for consideration for an award.

Objectives

The Scholarship Scheme is designed to assist academically sound postgraduate students living with a physical disability who have been admitted into the various higher degree programmes of the University of Ibadan. The essence of the scheme is to promote the welfare of this category of special students in line with global best practices. Through the scholarship aid scheme, support is offered to enable such scholars to complete their Master’s or PhD programmes in any academic discipline within the University of Ibadan.

The award involves a waiver of tuition and all other Postgraduate College-related fees. It also carries a monthly stipend subject to review by the Postgraduate College from time to time. The award is tenable for a maximum of three semesters for Master’s students and a period of one academic session, in the first instance, renewable for a maximum period of two academic sessions for PhD students. Annual renewal of award for PhD students is subject to receipt of positive evaluation reports by the Postgraduate College from the candidate’s supervisor and the Head of Department, at the end of each academic session.

Eligibility for the UI Scholarship scheme for postgraduate students with physical disabilities

To be eligible, candidates are expected to have been medically certified as having a form of physical disability (visual impairment, hearing impairment, paralysis, etc.) and must have been admitted for higher degree studies in the University of Ibadan. They must be holders of good honours degrees (minimum of Second Class Upper division or equivalent for Master’s students). PhD. student applicants must, in addition, possess Master’s degree (minimum of 5.0 cumulative grade point average or equivalent) of any University recognised by the Senate of the University of Ibadan, in any academic discipline. Candidates who are already under another scholarship scheme need not apply.

Requirements for Application for the UI Scholarship scheme for postgraduate students with physical disabilities

Candidates wishing to be considered for the award of a Scholarship are requested to submit the following documents:

(a) An Application form obtainable from the website of Postgraduate College (http://pgcollege.ui.edu.ng), duly completed by the applicant and endorsed by the Head of Department and Dean of Faculty.

(b) Copies of certificates obtained by candidates.

(c) Evidence of Registration for the 2021/2022 Session. (Please note that proof of registration for the 2021/2022 session MUST be provided before a letter of award to any

successful applicant).

(d) Research Proposal/Project Summary of between 5 and 10 pages must be submitted by PhD student applicants only. This should provide a clear statement of the objective of the work to be carried out or that is already being undertaken, its justification, the significance of the study vis-à-vis the existing literature, the methodology, and the expected output. Candidates are strongly encouraged to indicate the original contributions which they hope their study will make to knowledge.

The Proposal should be typed with 1.5 line spacing using Times New Roman with font size 12. Size of the paper in typescript should be A4 with a margin of 2.0cm to be left on the left hand side and 1.8cm for other margins except the top of the first page of the proposal, which should be 5.0cm above the headings. Only one side of the paper should be used. Applicants are to submit 3 copies of their research proposal.

(e) Candidate’s Commitment Letter: A one-page letter from the applicant affirming his/her readiness to submit a report of between 5,000 and 10,000 words as the outcome of the research carried out with the scholarship award.

Selection Process: All applications received will be reviewed by a Selection Committee.

Only short-listed candidates will be invited for a selection interview.

Deadline for the Receipt of Applications: All applications should be received in the Provost’s Office, The Postgraduate College within six weeks from the date of this announcement (10/01/2022 – 18/02/2022).

UI Postgraduate Scholarship Award 2021/2022 is out!!!!

The Postgraduate College, University of Ibadan is pleased to announce its 2021/2022 Scholarship Award Competition and to invite interested doctoral scholars based in the University of Ibadan to submit applications for consideration for an award.

Objectives

The Postgraduate College Scholarship Award is designed to promote and reinforce a culture of academic excellence in Nigeria. Through the scholarship scheme, support is offered to scholars interested in charting new research directions or advancing ongoing research with the expectation that this will contribute immensely to enriching the state of knowledge. The scholarship scheme is particularly targeted at the younger generation scholars who are carrying out research at the doctoral degree level in any academic discipline within the University of Ibadan. In selecting candidates, emphasis will be placed on the potentials of the doctoral theses and their implications for development.

The award involves a waiver of tuition and all other Postgraduate College-related fees and carries a monthly stipend subject to review by the Postgraduate College from time to time. Each recipient, to be designated as the “Postgraduate College Scholar”, will be required to give formal service to his/her Department/Institute. The Postgraduate College may also require the services of the awardees on special occasions. The Scholarship will be awarded to cover a period of one academic session, in the first instance, renewable for up to another two academic sessions, subject to positive and a progress report from the supervisor, endorsed by the Head of Department, at the end of each academic session.

Eligibility
