The attention of the University of Nigeria management focused on the comments and reactions that follow a trending video posted on social media.
In the video, a student of University of Nigeria Nsukka was dancing half-dressed in front of the Akpabio hostel to win a dance competition.
Mabel is a newcomer (fresher) to the Medical Laboratory Science department. For the record, the University of Nigeria does not condone indecency and other morally objectionable behavior from any students said by the University Public Relations Officer, Dr. Okwun Omeaku.
He said, “Our degrees and certificates are only awarded to those who, in connection with the reactions found in the video, have been advised that the university did not suspend or punish the student, but the management established that panel to investigate the circumstances of the incident .
Further actions will be guided by the panel report. We urge the general public to ignore reports of the student’s suspension.
The public should also ignore any comments suggesting predetermined punishment for the student.
