Federal Government Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Grant 2022/2023 application is ongoing. The Federal Ministry of Education welcomes intrigued and qualified students who wish to be part of the beneficiaries of 2022/2023 BEA Grant.

The interested applicants include undergraduates and postgraduates who wish to study in the following countries:

  • Undergraduates (UG)- Russia, Morocco, Hungary, and Egypt
  • Postgraduates (PG) – Russia (for those whose first degrees were acquired from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, and Romania

Worth of Scholarship

The scholarship includes the following:

  • Educational expenses and Accommodation.
  • Supplementation payment of $6,000 per annum to both Postgraduates and Undergraduates to expand taking care of transportation within the destination country, support, materials/books
  • Clothing allowances of $250 per annum
  • Medical coverage of $200 per annum for all successful applicants
  • Take-off payment of #100 000 once before takeoff for every single Postgraduate researcher
  • Take-off payment of #60 000 once before takeoff for all Undergraduate researchers
  • Postgraduates’ research grant of $1,000 per annum
  • Clinical payment of $500 per annum for researchers of General Medicine
  • A one-way ticket will be used during travelling to the nation of study. A total amount of $2,500 will be paid to graduating researchers toward the end of the course by Nigerian Aid in the host country for return flight and some other travelling expenses that might be incurred

Eligible Areas of Study:

  • Undergrad level – Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (restricted), and some other core courses
  • Postgraduate level (Masters Degree and Phd) in all fields

Qualification:

Undergraduates:

  • All candidates must have attained a base capability of Five (5) Distinctions (As and Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations such as WAEC (May/June) , NECO, and GCE in the subjects applicable to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics. Examinations should be not more than Two (2) years of being written (2020 and 2021) for Non-African Countries such as Russia and Hungary and for African nations the time of result should not be more than one year (2021)
  • Age limit is from 18 to 20 years

Postgraduates

  • All candidates for Undergraduate certificate courses should hold a First Degree with a minimum of second Class Upper Division. The candidates who are past beneficiaries of Foreign Awards must possess at least two (2) years post qualifications or business practice in the country.
  • All candidates must have gone through the N.Y.S.C.
  • Age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D and must be able to provide:
  1. N.Y.S.C release or exclusion proof
  2. ii) Letter of permission by present employers

Important Notice (For all Applicants) of the Federal Government Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Grant 2022/2023:

  • Since the BEA nations are Non-Anglophonic countries, candidates ought to be ready to offer a compulsory one-year foreign dialect course of the Country of study that will be used for communication and teaching.
  • Candidates applying for Bachelor in Islamic Religious Studies, Imamat, Quran Teaching Professor and Imam Preacher Training in Algeria must possess a WASSCE/WAEC result as no other certificate will be acknowledged
  • All candidates interested in Hungarian Scholarship can apply for up to two fields of study arranged by inclination and should visit the site: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu which was opened 18th November 2021 and was closed 15th January, 2022
  • Candidates interested in studying in Japan should have a strong foundation in Further Mathematics

  3. Candidates specifically chosen by the Scholarship Board will be needed to submit the following documents:
  • Original copies of school certifcate
  • Information as shown in their International Passport
  • Required Medical Reports from Government hospital
  • National Identification Number (NIN)
  • Police Clearance Certificate where needed
