Public and Private Schools In Lagos State To Close From November

In the meantime, Schools in Lagos State are to go for a mid-week break. The holidays would be from November 1-5, as students were expected to resume classes from November 8th.  Rest time for public and private kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools in the country between Monday and Friday of the next week

The Ministry of Education noted that the decision aims to improve the skills of teachers in modern teaching techniques to address the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the State Ministry of Education, the aim of the break was to improve the teachers’ skills in modern teaching techniques. According to General Director Abiola SerikiAyeni, the schools on Monday 8th will comply with government regulations for a smooth break. She said: “You also need to ensure that teachers are professionally enriched to improve staff performance, effectiveness and efficiency, as education and training are key to professional development in the 21st century.“You should take the opportunity to continue to implement the safety and precautionary protocols on COVID19 prescribed by the state government for the benefit of the students.” SerikiAyeni urged parents and guardians to productively involve their children and wards and spend meaningful time with them. He said this will foster a warm relationship that will produce a peaceful society.
